What is Accreditation?

In short

Recognition from a professional body that a course counts toward that body's own standards.

Accreditation is recognition from a professional or awarding body that a course meets its standards, and it matters when your goal is a credential that employers or clients already know. Coach training dominates this group: Co-Active Training Institute, Coach Training Alliance and Coach U all name ICF, so a graduate can work toward that body's credential. Bridge names ACCET for its TEFL route, and American Health Care Academy names the AHA guidelines for its healthcare courses. Names differ in what they cover, so check the body's own register for the exact programme, since the same body can be named for one course and not the next.
