What is Access model?

In short

How a reading or listening platform limits what each subscription covers, from credits to a monthly hour cap.

An access model is the rule that decides how much a subscription lets you read or listen to. Credit models hand you a number of titles for the month, hour caps allow a fixed amount of time, and an unlimited plan removes the ceiling.

Blinkist states an unlimited access model, so listening is not rationed there. Audible and Audiobooks.com use credits, and AfriKDP and BookBeat cap hours instead. The trade-off a reader weighs is breadth against certainty: a credit model rewards knowing your list, while an hour cap suits a reader who wants a long book without tracking titles.
