What is Recert years?

In short

How often a certification has to be renewed to stay valid after you pass.

Recert years are the renewal cycle for a certification, meaning how often you must retake or complete continuing education to keep it valid. Shorter cycles mean more paperwork and more cost spread across your career, so they belong in the total price. Most of the certifications here renew on a similar cycle, with ACLS Certification Institute, ACLS Now, Advanced Medical Certification and American BLS all renewing quickly. ACSM stands apart with a longer gap before renewal. Check whether your employer accepts a continuing education course as an alternative to a full retest, since that is often the cheaper route.
