Our verdict on each
FrenchPod101
FrenchPod101 suits French learners who want audio, app and live teaching inside one subscription, backed by a 60 days money-back window. The trade-off is scope and support: French covers French alone, and help runs on email and help centre, so multi-language or phone-first buyers should compare elsewhere.
Novakid
Novakid suits families who want live English lessons for children alongside app practice, and the ILS 379 monthly fee covers a 3,900 tutor pool with certified staff. Budget families starting from nothing should weigh it against free app-first options such as Bunpro.

Pros and cons
FrenchPod101
Pros
- Entry plans start at $4 and the monthly option sits at $10, so a short commitment costs little to test
- The 60 days money-back period ranks 2 of 29 brands, so a wrong fit is easy to reverse
- One subscription mixes app work, audio and live teaching, with app, audio and live 1to1 all inside the plan
Cons
- Coverage sits on French, so anyone studying another language needs a different service entirely
- Help runs on email and help centre, and chat and phone are not among those routes
- The 7 days free trial ranks 8 of 21 brands, so the trial is a brief signal and the refund window does the real testing
Novakid
Pros

- A free tier and a free trial lesson mean a first month can be tested before any payment
- A kids version and a family subscription cover more than one child on the same account
Cons
- Only English is taught, since english lists english and English covers English alone
- Levels stop at B1, below the advanced bands that fluent learners work toward
- Support runs on chat only, with no email or phone line listed

Questions about each
FrenchPod101
What does FrenchPod101 cost to join?+
Entry plans start at $4, while the monthly option is priced at $10. On our ranking the monthly figure places FrenchPod101 7 of 25, and the entry price places it 9 of 35. So joining is cheaper than at most of the field without being the cheapest route in.
Is the monthly price what I pay at renewal?+
The published figures cover two different commitments: entry plans at $4 and the monthly plan at $10. The lower number buys a way in, while the monthly figure is what an ongoing subscriber keeps paying. Comparing the two tells you how much of the entry offer is a discount against the ongoing rate rather than the price of the plan itself.
Novakid
How much does Novakid cost a month?+
The monthly plan is ILS 379, and entry pricing begins at the same level at ILS 379, so the lowest package and the monthly figure describe one spend. Both are quoted without a separate annual or lifetime tier. Families wanting live lessons should budget the monthly figure rather than a cheaper app rate.
Is there a free trial or free plan?+
Both exist. The free tier lets a family open the app and start without paying, and a free trial lesson adds a live session with a tutor at no cost. Together they mean a first month of live teaching can be sampled before any commitment, which is unusual for a subscription of this size.
