Our verdict

Life Purpose Institute suits adults who want a coaching credential they can finish online without leaving work. Accreditation is listed as icf, and the trade-off is the $2,995 fee, which sits high among the entry prices readers weigh against coaching programmes.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Practicum, tutor support and job support are all part of the fee, which covers 60 hours of coaching study in one place.
  • Accreditation is listed as icf, and certificates come in both completion and professional form through completion and professional.
  • The schedule is fixed: 12 weeks to finish, with 3 months of access, so the pace is set before starting.
  • Study is online and the format is bootcamp, so no travel or classroom time is needed.
  • Coaching makes up 20% of the site's certification field, so a coaching credential is a thinner shortlist than an IT one.

Cons

  • The $2,995 fee ranks 77 of 87 on entry price, the weaker of this brand's two positions.
  • It is built for a single market, US, so the credential carries weight in the US and little weight elsewhere.
  • There is no free tier, so the $2,995 fee is the only way in and there is nothing to sample first.
  • Support runs on email and phone only, while 71.9% of brands on the site also run a help centre.

Who it suits

  • Coaching newcomers who want supervised hours and a tutor while they learn, since practicum and tutor support are included.
  • Working adults who can only study online: delivery is online and the schedule is set at 12 weeks.
  • People who want a credential built for US and accept $2,995 as the entry cost.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Marisa Peer, which lists 300 hours of study for its certification, if you want a much longer programme.
  • CrackCerts, an IT exam practice brand at it, if the goal is a technical certification rather than a coaching one.
  • Testprep Training, also listed at it, for exam-prep buyers rather than people moving into coaching.

What it does well

The life coach certification runs 60 hours of study, and the pieces learners ask about most sit inside the fee. Practicum is part of the programme, so supervised client hours belong to the route rather than something you source separately afterwards. Tutor support is included, which matters most at the start when the coaching frameworks are still unfamiliar. Job support is offered too, so the credential is aimed at people who intend to coach, not only at people who want the study.

Where it sits among rivals

On course hours it ranks 28 of 53 brands compared here, which makes the programme a middling amount of study rather than a heavy one. On entry price it sits at 77 of 87, close to the back of the list. The two positions together describe the trade-off plainly: a moderate course carrying the price of one of the dearer options in the category.

Who runs it

The provider is Life Purpose Institute, Inc., with its headquarters in the United States. It has been trading since 1995, so the certificate comes from an established training provider rather than a short-lived course seller. Support runs on email and phone, which puts you in direct contact with the institute on written and voice channels alike. The same entity name appears in the terms, so the course and the contract sit with one organisation.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the coaching certification cost at Life Purpose Institute?+

The life coach certification starts at $2,995, and that figure covers the full programme rather than a single module. There is no free tier to sample first, so budget the whole fee up front. Course hours come to 60 hours, spread across the term.

How long does the certification take to finish?+

The programme runs 12 weeks from start to finish, with 3 months of access to the material, so the study window is fixed rather than open-ended. The 60 hours of content sit below the site median of 78 hours for comparable courses.

Is the certificate accredited?+

Accreditation is listed as icf, and the qualification is set at Level 1. Both completion and professional certificates are issued, as completion and professional shows, so you can tell which one your work needs before you enrol.

What does the programme include besides the certificate?+

Practicum is included, and so are tutor support, job support and assessments. The subject area is business, delivered as a bootcamp in online form, with support reachable when you need it. Practicum hours are built into the route rather than bolted on afterwards.

How do I get support while I study?+

Support runs on email and phone, which is the full set of routes into the institute. Study is online, so you can work through the modules outside office hours, and the 3 months of access set the pace you follow.

Which country can I take the certification in?+

The institute is based in the United States and the programme is listed for US only, so this is a single market credential. If you sit outside the US, check how the accreditation is treated by the coaching body you need it for before you pay $2,995.

Is there a free tier or a free trial?+

There is no free tier, so nothing can be sampled before you commit. That share of brands offering a free tier on the site is 52.7%, and this one asks for $2,995 up front. For anyone who prefers to sample a course first, that rules it out.

Who runs Life Purpose Institute?+

The provider is Life Purpose Institute, Inc., based in the United States and trading since 1995. Support comes through email and phone, and it focuses on coaching programmes rather than a general catalogue. Business is the listed subject area too, at business.
