Pros and cons

Pros

  • Free courses are available, and the certificate fee is €0, so finishing a course adds no certificate charge
  • Support runs through email, chat and phone, which covers phone and community alongside email and chat
  • The catalogue spans coding, data and it with 400 courses, so coding, data and business sit side by side
  • A 6 to 12 week completion window on the AWS solution architect path shows short, bounded programmes
  • Offline download is available, so lessons can be taken away from a connection

Cons

  • The money-back period of 7 days sits below the 14 day median across the platform ranking
  • Entry pricing of €299 ranks at position 182 of 220 brands, so it is not a low-cost starter
  • Delivery is online only on the listed programmes, so anyone wanting in-person study has no route in
  • The catalogue of 400 courses runs across coding, data and it, so depth in any one subject is thinner than a specialist provider

How it compares on our data

Simplilearn sits mid-table on the measures we track across this category. Its certificate fee of €0 puts it at position 1 of 47 brands ranked on that field, which is the strongest showing. Entry price of €299 places it at position 182 of 220, and the money-back period of 7 days sits at position 120 of 159. The overall score is 9, with cost at 8.9, offer at 9.1 and trust at 9.1.

What you get free

A free tier is available, so the catalogue of 400 courses can be sampled before any payment. The certificate fee is €0, which means a completed free course can carry a certificate without a separate charge. The money-back period of 7 days applies, which gives a short window to decide after buying. Against the 14 day median trial length in the platform ranking, there is room to check the material after enrolling.

The company behind it

The provider behind the courses is Simplilearn Solutions Private Limited, founded in 2010. Support runs through email, chat and phone, so learners can reach a person by phone as well as by email, chat or community. The catalogue of 400 courses spans coding, data and it, and university partnerships number 40, which is worth checking against the certificate a specific programme awards.

How Simplilearn compares

Frequently asked questions

How much does Simplilearn cost to start?+

The entry price is €299 for the listed programmes. That sits at position 182 of 220 brands in our price ranking, so it is a mid-range entry rather than a budget one. Learners can still browse the free tier before paying anything.

Is there a free tier and can I get a certificate for nothing?+

Yes, a free tier is available and the certificate fee is €0. That means a finished free course can carry a certificate without a separate certificate charge, which is why the brand ranks at position 1 of 47 on that field.

How long do I have to change my mind after buying?+

The money-back period is 7 days. That is shorter than the 14 day median in our platform ranking, so it ranks at position 120 of 159 brands. Anyone unsure should read the syllabus first.

What subjects can I study?+

The catalogue covers coding, data and it, with 400 courses in total. Coding, data and IT sit alongside business and design, so a learner can move between subjects on one account. Team plans are also available for organisations training several people.

How long does a typical programme take?+

The AWS solution architect path is designed for 6 to 12 weeks of study and 50 hours of content. Practicums and tutor support are offered, with assessments included, so the workload is defined rather than open ended.

What support can I get while studying?+

Support runs through email, chat and phone: email, chat, phone and community. Tutor support is available on the certification programmes, which matters most when a course ends in an exam rather than a completion certificate.

Can I study without a reliable internet connection?+

Offline download is available, so course material can be taken onto a device and used away from a connection. Delivery is online, so this suits independent study rather than scheduled classroom attendance.

Who runs Simplilearn and how long has it operated?+

The provider is Simplilearn Solutions Private Limited, founded in 2010. The company reports university partnerships of 40, which is worth weighing if a programme needs to carry institutional credit.
